Whatever came in on the Tarpon Springs and Madeira Beach boats that morning, cooked simply. Oysters on ice, a proper Key lime pie, and the sunset over the Sound at the end of the street. Two blocks up from the marina, right on the Pinellas Trail.
Our story
Callum grew up outside Inverness and came to Dunedin for the Highland Games one spring. He stayed for the water, and for Marisol, who had been cooking in kitchens from Ybor to Pass-a-Grille since she was seventeen. They opened Thistle & Tide in the spring of 2019 in an old storefront on Main Street with fifty-eight seats and one rule: if it didn’t come from the Gulf this week, it doesn’t go on the board.
Most mornings Marisol is on the phone with the boats by 6am. What they’re landing decides what we’re cooking. The rest of the menu is the stuff we like to eat on a night off: smoked mullet spread, a cold Cuban-spiced beer, and the sticky toffee pudding Callum’s gran would have approved of.
Every week
Three standing nights that regulars plan around. No tickets, no minimums. The bar is first come, first served.

What people say
We read every review, and yes, we know about the parking. Here’s what guests tend to mention.
We’ve lived in Dunedin twenty years and this is where we bring everyone who visits. Grouper was perfect, and Marisol came out to tell us which boat it came off.
Rode in on the Trail for happy hour and stayed for dinner. Get the mullet spread and the sticky toffee.
Tuesday oyster night is the best deal in Pinellas. Arrive by 5 or you’ll be standing.
